Age-old towns, large lakes full of white sailing boats and surprising, green nature areas – Fryslân is a beautiful province and popular among tourists and day trippers. You may think of recreational boating in Fryslân, but it is also a great place for cycling and walking. Together with recreation board Marrekrite, we maintain an extensive network of cycling and walking routes.
Furthermore, we place and maintain information kiosks at tourist transfer points (TOPs). A tourist interchange is actually a starting point for discovering Fryslân. A TOP is always near the cycle and/or walking network. On the information column you will find not only a large map of the area, but also a number of themed routes and places of interest in the region. Each column features a poem that has been specially written for the location.
