Walking is the best way to explore the Hoeksche Waard. During your walk – whether it is a stroll or a long walk – you will enjoy the special views and historic farms. That is why we have realised a walking network with a length of approximately 470 km, commissioned by Samenwerkingsorgaan Hoeksche Waard. The footpaths will not only lead you along dikes and flowering fields, but also past Highland cattle and special birds. A number of themed routes have been developed within the network, including a walk along an old post route from the time of Napoleon.
The Hoeksche Waard Walking Network is part of the route network in Zuid-Holland. The routes connect to the mooring places of the Delta ferries and to the location of tourist transfer points. In addition to the signposting, we have made walking even more enjoyable by adding footbridges, footbridges and swing gates.
